Once they're despatched, quickly turn to Sinjin and again, making sure you're loaded the fuck up on chems, Dispatch him through Vats with a headshot(s) as swiftly as possible. Although I'd like to point out it may help to load up on chems and take the henchman out as quickly as possible in VATS to avoid any collateral damage to Kent. When you close your menu the henchman should begin to attack while Sinjin just stands there, and as long as you don't shoot him, he won't kill Kent. Reportedly it works best with either orange or berry mentats, but it worked for me with a stimpak. So what you must do, when Kent stops you and says "don't move any further!" Open your inventory and take some form of chem. If you go straight ahead and just attack them, Sinjin will blow Kent's brains out.
The easiest way to get around this if a) you can't pass the speech checks or b) encounter my issue, is to have the henchman attack you first. I had an issue where there was no dialogue popping up with Kent, no matter how many times I reloaded my save and entered the room and/or waited for it to pop up.
